Who we are: Smart Selling Academy (“we,” “us,” “our”) provides online education and training resources.
What we collect: contact details, account data, limited billing information (via our payment processor), usage and device data, and content you submit.
Why: to provide and secure our services, process payments, support you, improve content, comply with law, and (if you opt in) send updates.
Choices: you can access, correct, delete, or export certain data; opt out of marketing; manage cookies; and withdraw consent where applicable.
Smart Selling Academy provides online training resources for sales professionals. For the purposes of this Policy, we act as the “controller” of your personal information when we decide how and why it is processed.
This Policy applies to personal information collected through our websites and pages we control (including fixingyourmarketing.com and related subpages) and through our services, events, customer support, and communications (collectively, the “Services”). If a third party links to or integrates with our Services, their privacy practices govern their handling of your data.

Account & Transaction Data — subscription plan, purchase history, support interactions, access logs (time/date), and fulfillment records.
Payment & Billing Data — processed by our payment provider (see §8). We do not store full card numbers; we may receive limited billing details (e.g., last4, card brand, expiration month/year, billing address) and transaction status.
Content You Submit — messages, form inputs, feedback, uploaded assignments, Q&A participation, and community posts.
Usage & Device Data — IP address, device type, browser, OS, pages viewed, referring/exit pages, timestamps, and general geolocation (city/region) derived from IP.
Cookies & Similar Technologies — cookies, local storage, and pixels (see §9).
Marketing Preferences — your choices for email or SMS marketing where offered.
4) Sources of Data
Directly from you when you create an account, purchase, contact support, or participate in sessions.
Automatically via cookies, pixels, and similar technologies when you use our Services.
From service providers (e.g., payment processors, analytics) and, where permitted, from publicly available sources to maintain accurate records and prevent fraud.
5) How We Use Personal Information
Provide the Services — create/manage accounts, deliver content, run live sessions, and support you.
Process Transactions — handle purchases, subscriptions, billing, receipts, and account status.
Communicate — send service messages (e.g., access, changes, security), respond to inquiries, and (if you opt in) send product updates and educational content.
Personalize & Improve — measure engagement, troubleshoot, test new features, and improve our curriculum and user experience.
Security & Abuse Prevention — detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, spam, and misuse (including card testing and unauthorized access).
Legal & Compliance — comply with applicable laws, enforce terms, and protect our rights and users.
6) Legal Bases (where applicable)
Where a legal basis is required (e.g., in the EEA/UK), we rely on: (a) contract (to provide the Services you request); (b) legitimate interests (e.g., improve Services, prevent fraud, secure our systems, communicate service changes); (c) consent (for certain marketing and cookies); and (d) legal obligations.
7) How We Share Personal Information
Service Providers — hosting, customer support, analytics, email/SMS, payment processing, and security vendors who process data on our behalf under contracts.
Community/Live Sessions — if you participate in group forums or live Q&A, information you choose to share may be visible to other participants.
Legal/Compliance — to law enforcement, courts, or others when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
Business Transfers — in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, data may be transferred as part of the transaction, subject to this Policy.
We do not sell your personal information. We also do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising where such “sharing” requires a specific opt-out under certain laws; if we ever change this, we will provide the required notices and choices.
8) Payments
We use third-party payment processors (e.g., Stripe) to handle payments. Your payment information is processed by the processor under their terms and privacy policy. We do not store full payment card numbers on our systems.
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember preferences, measure performance, and protect our Services. You can adjust cookie settings through your browser. Blocking some cookies may impact functionality.
Essential — required for core features and security (cannot be disabled).
Functional/Performance — helps us understand usage and improve the Service.
Do Not Track: our Services do not currently respond to DNT signals due to a lack of industry standard.
10) Analytics, Emails & Communications
Analytics — we may use analytics services to understand usage and improve the Services. These providers may set their own cookies or read existing ones.
Educational & Marketing Emails — with your consent (or where permitted), we may send training updates or offers. You can opt out at any time via unsubscribe links or by contacting us.
Community — if we offer a private group/community, remember that posts you make there may be visible to other members.
11) International Data Transfers
We may store and process information in countries other than where you live. When we transfer personal information internationally, we implement appropriate safeguards (e.g., contractual data protection commitments) as required by applicable law.
12) Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary by data category and purpose. When data is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it in accordance with our retention practices.
13) Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information (including access controls, encryption in transit, and monitoring). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If we learn of a security incident affecting your personal information, we will notify you and regulators as required by law.
14) Your Privacy Choices & Rights
Access & Correction — request a copy of your personal information and ask us to correct inaccuracies.
Deletion — request deletion of personal information, subject to legal exceptions (e.g., for transaction records, security, or compliance).
Portability — request a portable copy of certain information you provided, where technically feasible.
Consent & Opt-Outs — withdraw consent and/or opt out of marketing at any time; manage cookies via browser settings.
Objection/Restriction — where applicable, object to or request restriction of certain processing.
To exercise rights, contact [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity. Authorized agents may act on your behalf where permitted by law.
15) Regional Notices
Canada (including Québec)
We follow applicable Canadian privacy laws (e.g., PIPEDA) and, in Québec, Law 25 requirements. You may request access to and correction of personal information we hold about you.
Where applicable, you may request de-indexation or cessation of dissemination in cases defined by law, and data portability for certain data in a structured, commonly used format.
If you are in the EEA/UK, you have rights described in §14 and may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Where we rely on legitimate interests, you may object, and we will consider your request in line with GDPR.
California (CPRA/CCPA)
California residents have the rights described in §14. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We honor verifiable consumer requests and will not discriminate for exercising rights.
16) Children’s Privacy
Our Services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate action.
17) Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with an updated “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Services after changes means you accept the updated Policy.
